Laura Stikeleather, owner and photographer, founded Stikeleather Photography in early 2001 after completing her associate degree in fine arts with a concentration in photography. After several years by herself, Stikeleather Photography is now made up of several photographers, each with their own specialty. Due to our multiple photographers, we are able to offer Wedding and other bridal related photography, Family and Children Portraits, Studio and Environmental portraits, On location Photography, Maternity portraits, Product & Interior Design photography, Traditional and Modern styles, Photojournalism, and much much more! We pride ourselves on not only providing beautiful work, but building relationships with our clients.
A note from Laura:
To be totally honest, I do this because I LOVE it! I thought that I wanted to be a graphic designer. While taking the required courses for my graphic design degree, I realized differently when required to take a basic photography class. By the end of the semester, I had changed my focus and was committed to adding an addional year to be able to concentrate on photography.
I feel blessed that I am now able to be a wife, mother, and photographer! I am able to devote time to the man that I love, the children that I love, my clients that I love, and give glory to God that this is all possible! I consider these my perfect gifts.
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows". James 1:17
What makes us unique?
Although not intentional, all of our photographers are females. This makes Weddings, bridal portraits, and maternity portraits much more comfortable for our clients. All of our photographers know what it feels like to be a bride, and can relate to all of the little things and big things that come along with this very special day.
We have the ability to come to you. Whether you are interested in Environmental or Studio Portraits, we are able to accommodate in the location of your choice. We have a studio available for use, or we are able to set up a portable studio in the location of your choice to provide convenience if necessary.
We have shot over 250 weddings and over 500 portraits in last 8 years. All of our photographers are experienced and professional, and so much fun to work with! You are not only hiring us for our work, but for our personalities as well.
We are able to provide fast turn around on all of our services. We typically have photos posted on line within 72 hours of the shoot and proofs and reorders are ready within days of your selections.
We are able to offer reasonable prices without compromising service or quality. We have very little overhead and we don’t invest in unnecessary advertising because we are built on word of mouth referrals. We are able to pass the savings straight on to our clients.
We try to make the vendor shopping a little easier by being able to recommend other vendors that we know and trust. Here is a list of recommended vendors...

Something near and dear to our hearts is the JDRF (juvenile diabetes research foundation). My oldest daughter, Joselynn, was diagnosed in Dec. 2007, just before her 4th birthday. It is our mission to find a cure for juvenile diabetes so that thousands can live without the torturous daily pricks and insulin injections and without the fear of loss of sight, heart and kidney failure, aputation and even early death. A large portion of our proceeds is donated to the JDRF because we truly believe that a cure is possible. To learn more about juvenile (Type I) diabetes or if you would like to make a donation, please visit the website http://www.jdrf.org.
"For nothing is impossible with God" Luke 1:37
This years JDRF fundraiser walk was on April 19, 2008 at Carowinds. Our team name is Jossy's Posse. Our team alone raised over $8,500 to go toward finding a cure! To make a donation under our team, log on to the jdrf site, go to walks, and find our team name.
Thank you for your support! Laura Stikeleather - Owner
